Hand printed carpets with natural pigments The carpets were dyed and printed with the ancient techniques of Bagru and Dabu in Rajasthan, India, with learnings from local handcrafts. The pigments come from natural Indigo, iron crust (Black), and Madder root (Red). The process involves fermentation of the pigments, washing and drying at low temperatures, boiling on steel and finally, mud and woodblock printing. The carpets portray the raw elements that made them possible - water, soil and plants.
