Chasing My Memory’s Shadow

2024

2-channel film on monitors, 15”min

2-channel video projection on acrylic screenprint

A visual conversation of two videos with 20 years of difference in between, braiding stories around the time of colonisation in the Americas with an offset perspective that contrasts timelines. Using personal memories, archival material and reenactment as tools for constructing a dialogue with my past and present selves, researching different ways of learning and interpreting history.  How is the perception of History shaped by education and context? What role do images and storytelling play in the process of composing historical narratives?
